ALL-NEW FORD FIESTA INTRODUCTION SET FOR THE PHILIPPINES

Ford's globally popular small car, the all-new Ford Fiesta will arrive in the Philippine market in October 2010, closely timed with the introduction of the much-awaited vehicle in other ASEAN markets, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. Filipino customers will be able to choose between a sleek and stylish Ford Fiesta four-door sedan and a bold and sexy five-door hatchback in a total of six variants and eight sophisticated colors, all designed for a new generation of drivers with a taste for fun and freedom.

The all-new Ford Fiesta boasts of being irresistibly stylish with Ford’s state-of-the-art kinetic design. Surprising and distinctive from every angle, the two models are loaded with technologically savvy features and an engaging interior with never-before seen advancements in its category.

Available in two fuel-efficient I4 engines in either a 1.4L or 1.6L, it promises a powertrain and driving dynamics balanced for an altogether fun-to-drive offering. And as another first, the Fiesta also possesses Ford's innovative new best-in-class six-speed, dual-clutch automatic PowerShift transmission.

Bold and Athletic: Ford Fiesta’s Kinetic Design
With Fiesta, Ford is meeting growing customer demand for sporty small cars with a sleek, sophisticated design.

The front end features the familiar Ford signature grille with the Blue Oval trademark. Sweeping, elongated headlamps frame the hood.

The Fiesta's rear end stands out with chamfered rear lift gate glass, a low roofline, a spoiler and dramatic tail lamps with honeycomb detailing on hatchback models. Muscular rear quarter panels wrap tightly over the wheels, giving the car a bold, muscular look.

The design features that set Fiesta apart on the outside also contribute to an inviting interior, with sculpted surfaces and contrasting colors.

The instrument panel centre stack is designed to feel as familiar and useful as the keypad on popular hand-held electronic devices. Intuitive switchgear and comfort zone seating are just some of the features customers will enjoy.

Fiesta Fun… and fuel efficient
Ford Fiesta delivers on spirited performance and fuel efficiency. The standard 1.4-litre is a proven performer with 95 PS (70kW) at 5750rpm while the larger 1.6-litre engine provides 121 PS (89kW) at 6000rpm. Both engines are designed to run with Ethanol 20 fuel, 91 RON and 95 RON.

The new PowerShift six-speed automatic transmission, available with the larger 1.6-litre engine, combines the responsive performance and fuel economy of a manual, with the convenience of an automatic, perfect for urban driving. With six forward gears, the engine speed is optimized for smooth transmission, performance and fuel economy. This technologically advanced transmission is normally found in larger, more expensive vehicles.

Hill Launch Assist is another important safety feature that keeps the car still on an incline without having to use the handbrake, preventing the vehicle from rolling back. Brake pressure is maintained until the engine delivers enough torque to move the vehicle up the hill, providing improved driver confidence and comfort. The system works in forward and reverse gears.

In the Philippine market, the introduction of the Fiesta began last June with the launch of a revolutionary digital campaign- ConnectWithFiesta. Ford Group Philippines orchestrated the introduction of the Ford Fiesta in the digital world with the launch three online portals developed to engage a wider market of online users and fans, connecting them with the global Ford Fiesta phenomena: ConnectWithFiesta.com, Ford.com.ph and Ford Fiesta Philippines on Facebook.

Now, local Ford Fiesta enthusiasts who have been eagerly anticipating the arrival of the Ford Fiesta will be able to see the vehicle on display at the 3rd Philippine International Motor Show this August 19 to 22, 2010 at the World Trade Center.
