CLARK, Pampanga, Philippines, 12 Feb 2010– For eight years, UPS (NYSE) has helped bring fun and excitement to Filipinos with the Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta. As one of the Hot Air Balloon Fiesta’s sponsors, UPS brings in the balloons from the different countries involved in the event.

The job of transporting the balloons from different parts of the globe from countries as far away as Finland and Sweden confirms the range, reliability and flexibility of our network,” said UPS Philippines managing director Tim Gohoc.
UPS covers more than 200 countries and territories worldwide with 266 carrier planes and a delivery fleet of more than 99,400 vehicles.
This year’s celebration is expected to be bigger and more spectacular — with balloons coming in from 25 countries and an estimated crowd of 100,000.
“The Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta has given Filipinos from all walks of life something to look forward to. From the balloon take-off and aerial displays to the various exhibits, the young and the young-at-heart can find something they fancy at the event,” said Gohoc.
The 15th Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta, which will be held until the 14th of February (Sunday), is currently the country’s biggest aviation sports event. Since it started in 1994, the Hot Air Balloon Fiesta has been recognized as one of the major ballooning events in the world, alongside similar events held in Japan and New Mexico in the US.
