First Day Of ABA
Today is Joshwa's first day of his return to ABA.
(Applied Behavioral Analysis according to
http://autism.healingthresholds.com/therapy/applied-behavior-analysis
means that approach teaches social, motor, and verbal behaviors as well
as reasoning skills (1). ABA treatment is especially
useful in teaching behaviors to children with autism
who may otherwise not "pick up" these behaviors on
their own as other children would. )
We decided to return to his old teacher despite the fact that he's a bit
pricey because Joshwa already knows him and I didn't
want to be at the mercy of a therapy center who
will suddenly send a new therapist without prior
notice. That will really wreak havoc on Joshwa and his schedule.
He knows this therapist already so we decided
to just stick to him. True enough the teacher went
to work right away. There was little adjustment
that was needed to be done on Joshwa's part.
He is also Joshwa's Aqua Therapy Teacher
My mom asked me how will I pay for the
therapist? I didn't know how to answer her.
But the Lord will provide that I know. This
month part of the therapy is already covered.
Ask me again next month how we are going to afford it?
But one thing is for sure we are really pushing forward.

1st Day of Aqua Therapy
Joshwa started his first day of Aqua Therapy today.
The first goal is to get him to follow the therapist
which was a task all by itself. Then the therapist
removed his life vest so that he can understand
that going into a pool without a lifevest is dangerous.
Therefore he shouldn't go into the pool alone
without anyone there. He even learned how
to dog paddle on the first day.
Initially Joshwa didn't like the therapist
because he wasn't getting his way. He told
his yaya. YAYA HELP. I know that
Joshwa really needs to do this.
Tomorrow is Joshwa's first day of ABA
therapy.

I Love You
I hugged Joshwa and gave him a big kiss and
told him. I Love You Joshwa then he looked
at me with his big brown eyes and said
I love you right back at me and went back
to the bedroom to watch TV. I'm still in shock.
I love you forever! I like you for always
As long as i'm living my baby you'll be.

Book Geek??
I joined the Fully Booked Geek Club Trivia contest.
I didn't expect that I'd get everything right. Now
they want me to go Fully Booked sometime in FEB
for a Geek Club contest.
The winner will win a 5k gift cert and will have
the title for Book Geek of the Month. The problem
is i'm not sure I want to join.I joined because I thought
it's all going to be online. I have this thing about crowd
and tests. What a combination!!! My friend once said
that if you join a contest you have to be in it to win it.
Yikes!!!!What if I can't get anything right? What if I show with
a bag covering my face. Sort of looking like this:

Now that's a nice thought.

My Sister
My sister in town. She'll be here for a month.
While I'm really not close to her for reasons
I don't want to elaborate on. I want us to be
a bit closer. I don't know how. I don't know
where to start. All I know is that we both
like Twilight. I sent her 2 of my best
like Twilight. I sent her 2 of my best
shirts. I hope she'll like them rebuilding
takes time. I also don't want to force anything.
It will make it seem like its not genuine.
Slowly but surely with baby steps I'm sure
Slowly but surely with baby steps I'm sure
we'll get there eventually

Definitely in Therapy
Joshwa will definitely do the therapy.
Doesn't matter if kulang ang provision
God will provide. Nakawala si Joshwa this is more
serious nakalabas na sya nang building namin.
Whatever misgivings I had about the therapy
and whether or not we can afford it. Went out the door.
Joshwa's safety is very important but his yaya
cannot be there for him 24/7. He needs to be trained
that just because the door is open or the key is there
means that he will go out.

Therapy Mode
Joshwa will be going back to therapy mode this week.
Yey! He will be doing aqua therapy.According to
http://www.recreationtherapy.com/articles/autismandquatictherapy.htm
Among the range of interventions that a recreational therapist might choose, one unique and very successful alternative for individuals with autism is aquatic therapy. Water activities provide autistic children with proprioceptive and tactile input. Children with Autism have significant sensory difficulties, and are very distractible. These children over or under react to stimuli in their environment and have very strong reactions to certain textures. The warm water provides a safe and supported environment, which not only supports the children, but also provides them with hydrostatic pressure that surrounds their body in the water. This pressure actually soothes and calms the children, providing the necessary sensory input they crave.
Children with Autism present significant safety risks when in the pool. Their lack of response to verbal commands, and their distractible nature can present great challenges for even the most careful therapists. It is essential to maintain intense supervision of these clients at all times, particularly in an aquatic environment. Another factor to consider when providing aquatic therapy is the high rate of seizure disorder that is common in children with Autism.
Very soon he will also ABA. I really want him to go to A Child Can.
I really, really hope we can afford it. 15K a month is no joke.
They're the best talaga and i'm sure i'll get what we pay for.
Another problem is saan kukuha ng pambayad.
On another note..nakakalungkot pa.. talagang hostage kaming mga
magulang.
say BYE BYE just like that. That is a very sad reality. The moment
that you remove the concern and the care. They stop caring
and then one day you wake up and you find out that
They dropped you like a very, very hot potato.
Sorry to be ranting as a parent . Parang feeling
I'm now
starting to get stares from people. Minsan napapaaway
na ako kasi how about a little compassion. Minsan
from Joshwa's own relatives nakakarinig ako ng
masakit na comments.
Like I know of someone in Philbert's family
whose son has symptoms of Autism. They
say GDD( Global Developmental Delay)
okay fine but still disability pa rin. He is so hyper
and some people are encouraging the parents to
do something because he's still non verbal.
May nag react from his family delayed lang anak
I was really so affected. Sobra ako naawa sa kanila
kasi ignorante sila and sobra din ako na hurt for my son.
I did not comfront them because I didn't want to
stoop down to their level. Denial is a very lonely place
to live in

Happy Birthday Andrea
Today is Andie's 9th Birthday.
We should have been eating cake and celebrating.
I miss her so much! The ache doesn't seem to go away.
I received a message from her biological mom and She wants
to talk to me. Sumasakit ang ulo nya kay Andrea was
her message. Naawa ako kay Andrea. It's hard to
grow up without a mom. Di puedeng basta kung sino
lang mag aalaga. I miss you Andie! Just because
we're not together doesn't mean that you're not
my daughter anymore.

Anecdote About Joshwa
Joshwa is still non-verbal BUT lately he has start to be using
This is the scenario:
his words to express how he feels.
This is the scenario:
Daddy is giving Joshwa a haircut.
Joshwa starts complaining and says ANO BA! ANO BA!
Daddy still cuts Joshwa's hair. Joshwa starts
singing this song. He finished the whole song.
Was so surprised because I don't even know
where he learned this song.
Kapalaran
Performer: Rico J. Puno
Bakit ba ganyan
ang buhay ng tao
mayro'ng mayaman
may api sa mundo
kapalaran kung hanapin
'di matagpuan
at kung minsa'y lumalapit
nang 'di mo alam
o bakit kaya
may ligaya't lumbay
sa pag-ibig
may bigo't tagumpay
'di malaman 'di maisip
kung anong kapalaran
sa akin ay naghihintay

Baler
Yes third time is definitely a charm. After watching 2 MMFF movies
I decided that Baler would make or break my patronage
of Philippine movies.
I won't go into the technical details since I don't really
write movie reviews too lazy to go into Who,what, when, where, why's
of the movie. I love the movie! If it's one movie
that is worth anyone's time and money this is really the
movie to watch. Initially, I was in shocked that they
would cast someone like Anne because she looks mestiza
and Jericho doesn't look like he is Mestizo. But It really
worked. I loved Philip Salvador's acting full of anger and
pain and struggling with his past. Rio Locsin is also great
in her role as a mom struggling to balance her husband
and with understanding and supporting her kids.
I really love this movie. The ending I didn't like but it was
a good twist. I was really about to lose it and sniffing
and trying to hold it together during the whole time because
sort of felt her pain the anguish of not being able to see your
loved one. So near and yet so far.
Then there was this scene where Anne said Mahirap,Mahirap na Mahirap
then Jericho says Kayanin mo para kayanin mo. That scene did it for
me right there. I was holding back the sobs..then by the time
the ending was there I was this crazy crying woman. That rarely
even happens for me to be moved by a movie.

Tanging Ina (Another Movie Review)
I rate this movie a 6/10. Puede na rin. Kung gusto mo lang
matawa then I guess it's okay. Pero there are some things
that I didn't like because there are parts of the movie
that would not and will never make sense. Another thing
i don't like is the forced love theme and the forced
dramatic scenes. Puede nang wala na yun and another
annoying part is the ad placement. Halatang halata eh.
But over all it imparts a lesson or two.

Iskul Bukol
Had a chance to watch it.. I liked 20% of it the rest was terrible.
If you want to see what happened to Philippine Movies that movie
could explain what's wrong. First was really Bad Acting second
was slapstick comedy third was terrible imitation of Hollywood
movies and last but not the least Unrealistic and Impossible
Story lines. Was really very disappointed because I was looking forward
to watching that movie and it was a waste of money and a total
waste of 2 hours of my life. My sister wise as she is told me
what did I expect? great acting from whom? Tito Vic and Joey. Indeed
a word from the wise. Enough said

Joshwa's Antics
This really made my day..
Joshwa typing on the computer: I want Royal Tru Orange Please DADDY
Irish Adee's yaya tells him: Joshwa tulog ang Daddy mo palitan mo yung
name dyan ilagay mo name ko
Joshwa starts to type I want Royal Tru Orange Please and makes a very
long pause looking at Irish, looking at the notepad and then he
erases what he typed and types a new sentence and says
I Don't know what your name is. So Irish now types My name is Ate Irish.
Joshwa types it again : I want Royal Tru Orange Please Ate Irish.
Joshwa is indeed full of suprises

AGE
My husband just turned 36 last December 28 and he's in denial that he's turned another year older. He says that like Edward who's been 17 for awhile. He too has been 25 for long while. To him age is nothing but a number but there's a big difference between denial and delusion.Just today I asked him what year he graduated from high school he immediately said 1993.I thought about his answer and was almost about to believe him. When I suddenly remembered hey I graduated from high school in 1993 and he is 4 years older.Okay scratch that he is 3 years 9 months and 9 days older than me.He then gave me his sweetest boyish smile which made my heart flutter and my knees weak. I'm a sucker for that smile that I did let that fib slide.I have to admit, he doesn't look like he's a day over 27. Which means that marriage to me agrees with him and he hasn't aged a bit since a bit since we got married.Lucky Him!!

Twilight Translations
There's been talk that Twilight will translated to Filipino
and Will be Renamed Takipsilim. Here are some dialogues that
can be used should that ever happen(dare I say I really hope not!!!)
I found this lines from Several Twilight Multiply Groups
Ilang taon kana?"
"Labing pito."
"Gano katagal kanang labing pito?"
"Matagal-tagal narin."
"alam ko kung ano ka"
"sabihin mo... sabihin mo ng malakas..."
"bampira!"
"natatakot ka ba?"
"hindi"
"takot ka ba?"
"ang ikinatatakot ko lang ay ang mawala ka sa akin"
"kung kaya mong mabuhay habang panahon, ano ang ikabubuhay mo???"
"punyeta bella, ikaw ang magiging kamatayan ko"
"*singhot* mmmm... nagdala ka pa ng chichirya..."
"aking lalaking unggoy!"
"humawak ka ng mahigpit, gagambang unggoy!"

Joshwa's Milestones
Joshwa lost his first tooth today. Yes!! that's right he'll be
turning 8 next month and he just lost his first tooth.
He also opened his gifts this year on his own.
I don't have to do it anymore!!! He played with
Adrianne's gift which was a small bicycle. I'm a happy
mom. I treasure Joshwa's milestones doesn't matter if
it's late as long as it gets here.

The Ten Twilight Commandments:
I found this sa candytalk forum and I just have to share it:

SHARES:
1. I am the best book out there, you shall not have better one than I am.
2. Thou shalt not take Edward Cullen's name in vain.
3. Remember to keep release dates calendard.
4. Honor the Cullens for gracing you with their presence.
5. Thou shalt not kill humans.
6. Thou shalt not love Edward Cullen and Jacob Black equally.
7. Thou shalt not steal Twilight books from your friends to see how they will react when they can't read them anymore.
8. Thou shalt not lie. For Edward know that you did anyways.
9. Thou shalt not covet Edward.
10. Thous shalt not covet Edward's Volvo, or various Cullen cars.
