No Takers

The Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) has started inviting firms to submit documents to express their interest on projects involving the improvement of the Metro Rail Transit-Line 3 (MTR-3). In its Request for Expression of Interest, the DOTC said it is looking for companies that are interested in providing consultancy services for the MRT-3 system.

Be Fair and Don't Raise The Fare

The Department of Transportation and Communication Secretary Emilio Abaya has ample guts to proceed with his planned strategies to complete the buyout as per his latest announcement of Department Order for MRT in Metro Manila.

Jun Abaya’s confidence coupled by the administration support  in backing up the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) made him the focus of so many disappointments coming from different sectors of the society. The Administration’s truly involved and believed the same way as he did. Moreover, he has the support for this MRT3 endeavor all along.

Be Fare

Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) Secretary Joseph “Jun” Abaya failed to attend Wednesday’s hearing on the Metro Rail Transit (MRT) and the Light Rail Transit (LRT) fare hike supposedly to attend preparations for the papal visit. Can We Afford MRT Buyout

The Senate is effectively aborting the planned government takeover of the breakdown-prone Metro Rail Transit (MRT) 3 next year.Senators are insisting on their decision to take out the P53.9-billion appropriation in the proposed P2.606-trillion 2015 national budget for the buyout plan even if the House of Representatives would insist on retaining it.

The Long Wait Is Far From Over

The solution is simple really and I don't understand why things have to be complicated , raise the MRT fare and find a way to make the buses plying EDSA run faster . Our train fares are the cheapest in the world. There is a saying, if you pay peanuts, you get monkeys. If pinoys can afford the most expensive cellphones, and change everytime a new model comes along, (not to mention load everyday so they can text and FB non-stop), I dont see any reason why they cant add five pesos more to have a safer and more comfortable train ride to work.

Who Will Run The MRT?

After four years in office, the Aquino government suddenly realized the MRT3 needed new coaches. They should have realized that as soon as they assumed power because the capacity and density problems did not just start last year or this year. They failed to act on it from the start.
